at Citrix Synergy 2016, we announced that we now also Windows 10 on the XenApp and XenDesktop 7.6 Long Term Service release (LTSR) Add Compatible components list. There has been a lot of customer interest in LTSR; but we know that many are also seeking you, on Windows 10. To pass, adding Windows 10 as a compatible component gives you the flexibility of adding Windows to break 10 VDAS your LTSR sites without compliance rules. Many cheered for announcing you and we immediately got requests for more information and details on search, as 10 to implement Windows 7.6 LTSR. Let me start by sharing background information before explaining the changes we make. When we first announced the general availability of XenApp and XenDesktop 7.6 LTSR January 2016, we have three categories of components:

Since then, we continue to add new features and hardened our support for Windows 10 platform on XenApp and XenDesktop 7.8 and 7.9 Current Releases. Citrix Provisioning Services 7.7 added Windows 10 support as well. The 7.9 desktop OS VDAS has new features such as GPU acceleration for DirectX window applications and HDX 3D Pro Support for Windows 10. These changes, along with the very positive customer feedback on the 7.9 VDA for Windows 10 has convinced us that the 7.9 desktop OS VDA and provisioning Services 7.9 with Windows 10 support add to the list of 7.6 LTSR Compatible components so that you have made the best both worlds - use Windows 10 VDA with your LTSR site and all the benefits of LTSR.
What officially 7.6 Moving to the supported list components LTSR Notable exclusion list is now new
Windows 10 VDA is shown below. The recommended minimum VDA version for Windows 10 7.9 7.6 LTSR site to ensure further be compatible. Although Provisioning Services is used in the LTSR site for deployment of Windows 10 virtual desktops, we also recommend Provisioning Services version 7.9 to a minimum. The rest of the site needs to be compliant with the rules of LTSR as defined in XenApp and XenDesktop 7.6 LTSR Base release documentation.
