Frequently Asked Questions - NetScaler Gateway Service

We announce Beta for NetScaler Gateway Service. This is a public beta open to anyone who either an existing XenApp and XenDesktop customers or a new customer is interested in the subscription of XenApp and XenDesktop service on Citrix Cloud.
1. What's NetScaler Gateway Service?
NetScaler Gateway Service (NGS) is a complementary service to XenApp and XenDesktop service on Citrix cloud that delivers the same high-quality user experience as on-premise NetScaler Gateway, but without the need firewall ports, TLS configure certificates or register a DNS domain.

2. I am a newer XenApp and XenDesktop service subscriber. Can I subscribe for NGS now?

The general availability, NGS is through the same channels as other Citrix Cloud Services (sold by Citrix partners on a per-user per-year basis) are available, see https: / /www.citrix.com/products/citrix-cloud/buy.html for further details.

3. I NetScaler in my data center today. Can I use it hosted as a front-end applications and desktop service on Citrix cloud?

Yes. You can continue to use your local NetScaler with XenApp and XenDesktop service on Citrix Cloud.

4. What other components should I use NGS to the XenApp and XenDesktop service?

5. If I subscribe NGS, I need to apply changes to my firewall?

No. No changes are required in your DMZ or your corporate firewall. NGS includes HTTP proxy support, you should have your network policies require Internet access services from your network.

6. If I have multiple data centers, I can use NGS?

Yes. NGS passes HDX directly to the correct data center. To take advantage of this function, configure that several zones in the XenApp service. (Note: in the current beta, ensure that the * all * Cloud Connectors and equipment catalogs are in new zones provide a reliable connection to guarantee)

If you are a subscriber service with XenApp and XenDesktop, you must request and sign a free trial to another account. We want to make sure we do not introduce a new component in the production environment, which is not generally available
