Germany Investigates Facebook on laws protecting the privacy -

Facebook and Europe have disagreed on the privacy front, and it seems to happen again. Last week, Reuters reported that Germany has launched a survey on the social network. Specifically, the Competition Bureau of Germany Facebook investigation for "abuse of market power on suspicion of violations of data protection laws."

They aim to determine whether users are appropriately informed about the information and personal data that Facebook collects about them. They want to determine if Facebook does not comply with competition rules, because they earn revenue from the ads served based on the user data they collect. The investigation will determine whether Germany is Facebook into compliance, and if their data collection points of the German anti-trust rules.

Germany is working with the EU on this issue, and both Germany and the EU have criticized Facebook for its protection of privacy. Facebook claims that they are in compliance.
