Manifestation of the slowdown: Tell the EU to vote on net neutrality -

The EU will decide on net neutrality this summer. Around this decision are fears that EU regulators will allow first found loopholes in the rules neutrality of the EU Net 2015. As a result, the net neutrality for organizations facing those in their corner to submit a comment to BEREC during a period of open comments.

the concept of net neutrality means that Internet service providers should provide access to online content regardless of the source - without favoring certain websites. The rules adopted in the EU in 2015 indicates that operators can not give special treatment when it is absolutely necessary, and does not mean a worse experience for Internet regular users. When the 2015 rules were first developed by the European Commission, the authors argued that it would add much needed clarity to how the Internet should work, but opponents quickly pointed out that the law is full of gaps that would allow huge for suppliers trading partners.

in the midst of the controversy, organizations such as the fight for the future and Save the Internet rallied to encourage the Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) to be clear about all aspects of net neutrality, and get serious about the issues at hand. They rally to "save the Internet" and their effort "of EU slowdown" is conducted by over 7,000 Web sites using the EU flag loading icon on their websites.

A Golden Frog, we are for the Open Internet and support the current push for more clarity on the EU's net neutrality rules. We prefer the term "open Internet" on net neutrality, however, that the two are different (net neutrality implies the regulator is to define the rules while the term Open Internet means the consumer or the market is set ). You can learn about the differences between the two here.
