Golden Frog Signs Another letter of support email Protection Act (HR 699)

May 24, 2016: Golden Frog signed a letter to the coalition, organized by CDT, which supports the Act Privacy Email (HR 699). The H.R. 699 bill is due for markup in the Senate on May 26 and before the signs of many companies and groups signed the letter of support to the bill during its passage in the House without further changes. The letter urges "the Committee to move immediately and without any amendment that would weaken the protections offered by the bill." We will provide an additional update on Thursday once the bill is debated in the Senate.

ECPA Passes the House of Representatives

April 27, 2016: the email Protection Act (HR 699) passed the House US officials this afternoon. The bill will now move along the Senate. This is good news for those in favor of the bill - a broad group that includes the defenders of privacy, technology companies, advocacy groups like the ACLU - and Golden Frog! Support Act Privacy Email Golden Frog sign a letter

April 26, 2016 :. Golden Frog signed a letter supporting the coalition Protection Act information Email (HR 699), which updates ECPA. The Act Privacy Email would end "arbitrary 180 day rule" of ECPA which currently allows email communications to be consulted without warrant after only 180 days. As members of the Coalition of Internet infrastructure (i2Coalition) and Computer and Communications Industry Assn. (CCIA) colleagues agree that ECPA should be revised to better reflect the evolution of electronic communications.

ECPA Passes Judiciary Committee

April 13, 2016: We are happy to learn the judicial Committee of the house has just adopted the ECPA reform bill unanimously by a vote of 28-0. then he will return to the floor of the house, then go to the Senate. the ECPA reform is a step important and very necessary in protecting digital privacy for people across the country.

Golden Frog has supported the reform of the ECPA and work to get this bill updated for years and we are pleased these efforts contributed to this reform go forward

Golden Frog supports the Substitute Manager for ECPA

April 13, 2016 :. ECPA is marked by the House judiciary Committee today. A Golden Frog, we are in favor of the amendment replacing the manager of the Act Privacy Email (HR 699) that will update ECPA. Substitute this manager has been put forward by President Goodlatte.

We signed a letter in support of this bill.
