When Internet Smarter Forum in Philadelphia PA, today, Golden Frog co-founder Ron Yokubaitis received an award for Internet Community Leadership.

Ron Yokubaitis is a digital pioneer - an entrepreneur who struggle since the commercial Internet from birth to make sure it remains free and open. When i2Coalition was created to speak for the infrastructure of the Internet, we entered a field where the bold, strong voice already existed, and that was Ron. The award recognizes the innovative work Ron has done for the Internet, beginning in 1994 when he and his wife Carolyn co-founded Texas.net - one of the top 50 ISPs in the United States. Their Internet businesses have grown to include several other companies since then, including Giganews and Data Foundry Golden Frog. Ron continues to lead the fight for a free and open Internet, and Internet that respects the privacy and user security. These efforts go beyond product creation, as Ron leads a charge for the change in US policy, often traveling to DC, questions the defense and work with many organizations, including I2Coalition.
