Updated May 12, 2016:

Uganda has again blocked social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp before President Yoweri Museveni is sworn in at the office today. This triggered unrest familiar with the Ugandans, as a similar blockade took place on election day earlier this year.

Museveni won 60% of votes, extending his rule to 35 years. The opposition has called his victory a foul and protests have taken place since the election results were announced.

The government also banned all live TV or radio coverage of protests.
