Texans care about their privacy online. Linux systems admins care about their privacy online. When we combined the two groups during our recent panel discussion in Texas LinuxFest, the result was a full house and a lively discussion.
The panel focused on the state of the current privacy legislation, how technology companies can fight subpoenas from law enforcement, and how to evangelize people to use encryption technologies in fight against government surveillance.
a standing room only crowd joined a group of stars that was so connected to questions, he could easily have had this discussion on Capital Hill. Despite this prestigious group, the public was the MVP of the event. The group clearly cared about the issues and engage the panelists for making a stimulating and lively discussion.
