AnchorFree provides users in Turkey free, unlimited access to Hotspot Shield Blocked Social Media Sites Twitter and YouTube -

Yesterday, Turkish citizens have turned to Hotspot Shield to circumvent Turkey blocks YouTube and Twitter. During the first two hours, more than 100,000 users in Turkey downloaded Hotspot Shield to access Twitter and YouTube in complete safety. We have already seen daily installations of Hotspot Shield in Turkey increased by 889.19 percent on iOS; and 1019.17 percent on Android. Furthermore, Hotspot Shield has become the No. 1 application on the productivity and overall # 8 on iOS Turkey. Turkey has also threatened to ban Google.

At AnchorFree our mission is to provide secure access to the world's information for every person on the planet. We support freedom of every citizen to access all the world's information on the Internet. So we removed all the bandwidth and time limits for Turkish citizens to freely use Hotspot Shield and safely to access Twitter and YouTube on smartphones, tablets and computers. On Android and desktop, using Hotspot Shield is already free because it is funded by advertising. On iOS, users in Turkey will be able to use Hotspot Shield to access Twitter and YouTube apps even after their trials or subscriptions expire.

In March 2014, Turkish citizens had experienced the same thing that the Turkish government has blocked access to Twitter. In the first 48 hours, more than 2 million Turkish users had installed Hotspot Shield and received secure access to Twitter. During the Arab Spring in 2010, more than 1 million Egyptians installed Hotspot Shield when the Egyptian government blocked access to Facebook and Twitter. AnchorFree is proud to provide millions of users around the world with access to Facebook, Twitter and YouTube when they are blocked. AnchorFree played huge roles in most major world events by providing users access to blocked content and securing their connections, protecting against malware, hackers and identity thieves.

We will continue to support the Turkish citizens to make sure they were safe, private access to Twitter, Youtube and other social sites should be blocked access again.
